This page explains what data the Pop Code Android app
(package name com.tivie.popcode) uses and why. The app is made by
Tivie, an independent developer, who can be reached at
tivie.compte@gmail.com.
In short
- No account, no email address required, no ads.
- No data is sold or shared with other companies.
- Playing against the computer works offline and sends nothing.
Data used to play online
- Your nickname: the name you choose, shown to the other players in your game.
- A random player ID, created by the app and kept on your phone. It is only used to put you back into your game if your connection drops. It does not reveal who you are.
- Your IP address, technically required to connect to the game server. It may appear in the server's technical logs, kept for at most 30 days for security and bug fixing.
- The game itself (questions asked, answers, guesses), kept in memory only while the game lasts.
Data kept on your phone
The app keeps your nickname, the server address and your settings on your phone so it doesn't ask for them again. They are deleted when you uninstall the app.
Where the data is
The game server is located in France. Traffic between the app and the server is encrypted (secure wss:// connection).
Children
The app does not ask for any personal information and does not try to collect any from children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask to access or delete your data by writing to tivie.compte@gmail.com. Since the app has no accounts, in practice there is nothing to delete apart from the technical logs, which are erased automatically.
Changes
If the app changes (for example with player accounts), this page will be updated and the date above will change.
